What Should Retailers Stock for Diwali? An LED and Solar Lighting Guide for Shops in India
Diwali is on 8 November 2026 and Dhanteras on 6 November. Customers start buying festive lights weeks before, so shops that stock early and display well sell more. This guide helps retailers, electricians and resellers choose what to stock from the ENER-J range, in simple price bands.
Start with the fast-moving festive lights
- LED rope lights: the classic for house outlines, pillars, balconies and shop fronts. Our 50m amber LED rope light gives a warm festive glow. Browse the LED rope light range.
- Neon flex: a clean, modern line of light for walls, ceilings and signs. See the warm white neon flex light and the neon flex collection.
- Colour strips and rope: RGBIC lights are popular for rooms and shop displays. Try the RGBIC strip light and the RGBIC outdoor rope light.
Add solar lights for gates, balconies and gardens
Solar lights need no wiring and no electricity bill, which makes them easy to sell and easy to fit. Good lines to stock are the solar string lights (10m, RGB and warm white), the solar garden string lights and the solar gate light for pillars. For steps, fences and driveways, add the solar deck and fence light and the solar pathway light, both priced at Rs 499, which are easy first purchases for customers.
Stock by price band
- Under Rs 1,000: solar deck, fence and pathway lights and RGBIC strips. Easy impulse buys for walk-in customers.
- Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000: solar gate lights, rope lights and string lights. The main festive sellers.
- Above Rs 2,000: neon flex and floodlights for customers decorating whole buildings or shop fronts.
Display tips that help sell
- Keep one rope light and one string light switched on at the shop front so customers see the glow.
- Show the solar lights near a window or door where they charge in daylight.
- Group lights by use: house outline, balcony, gate and garden, so customers can buy a full set.
